Tantra says, "I work most often photographically, these days, though i have been an artist of various media all my life, such as woodcuts, monoprints and oils. I often incorporate painting with acrylics, or put my photos into metalic sculptures, for example, most often using Photoshop, however, as the creative manipulation of my straight photography. I have made a lot of Polaroid transfers out of my images, and drawn on top of others, sometimes with blood. A lot of my work is not even really photographic at all, say, sometimes dropping into the palatte of ancient icons, and lifting works from old anatomical illustrations for collage. I have been finding myself going more into the photography straight up, though, of late, inspired so much by the people i take pictures of i sometimes want to just feature them as they are. I then turn the images into giclees, high quality, archival prints, and often burn them and the frames they are in with a blowtorch, my own unique method called scorchvision! I have a show traveling through Spain now, called Reality Burn!. My art comes from the fire of my heart, a kind of energy created from love and intensity of feeling, and lining up of the energies of the body Tantrically. My mind is surreal, dreamlike, and i love delicious humor, going about with people in ridiculous costumes, multi-media events where dancing is the best way to become one with the art.

I love taking beautiful pictures of men, something I don't think is very well represented out there, being so far overshadowed by images of women. Most photographs of nude young men are done by other men, so few by women photographers. I also like to use my art to illustrate ideas I strongly believe in, such as for a magazine discussing government mind control programs, anti-draft t-shirts, or illustrating spiritual books, CD covers of great musicians, even poetry. Much of it is purely done out of the strangeness of reality, with props and backgrounds and costumes that are unexpected, enigmatic, poetic, nothing that could be paraphrased. I am also a professional model for photographers, including myself, so i become art from the outside in and the inside out. My art is a way of turning myself inside out for you and me to see what is behind my eyes. Hopefully, it let's you see what is behind your eyes more vividly, too."

It absolutely does! Her work blows me away. I find myself staring into the eyes of her subjects, and I'm sure you will, too.
